Douglas Burnet Smith is the author of 13 books of poems. He has been nominated for the Governor General´s Award for poetry, the Atlantic Prize for poetry, and has won the Long Poem Prize from the Malahat Review. His poetry has been translated into French, Spanish, Bosnian, German, and Finnish. He has been Writer in Residence at the following institutions--Cleveland State University, the University of Prince Edward Island, Fern Hill School, St. Clement´s School, and Shawnigan Lake School. His work has been published in numerous literary journals in Canada and the U.S., and he has been invited to read from his work at literary festivals in England, the United States, France, Bosnia, Serbia, Finland, Germany and Italy. He teaches at St. Frances Xavier University in Nova Scotia and at the American University of Paris. He divides his time between Canada, France and Argentina.

Douglas Burnet Smith is the author of 11 books of poetry. His work
has been nominated for the Governor General’s Award for Poetry, the
Atlantic Poetry Prize, and has won the Malahat Review’s Long Poem
Prize, in addition to appearing in many poetry anthologies. He has been
writer-in-residence at a number of North American universities and at
Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver island. He as been active in the
Writers in the Schools program in Nova Scotia for twenty years, and has
conducted “how-to” workshops for the Nova Scotia Teachers’ Union.
