Born in Toronto, Susan Ioannou has a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Toronto. Over three decades, she variously taught writing for the Toronto Board of Education, University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, and Ryerson University, and served as Associate Editor of Cross-Canada Writers' Magazine. In 1985, she founded Wordwrights Canada, where she created The Poetry Tutorial writers' correspondence course, now transformed into the online Lessons in Writing the Poem. While Susan's current focus is her own creative work and editing, through Wordwrights Canada she continues to provide links to student writing resources and contests at http://www3.sympatico.ca/susanio/WWCcomp.html.
