Joan (MacKenzie) Finnigan

Born and raised in Ottawa, and educated at Lisgar, Carleton, and at Queen's, since the death of her husband in 1965 Joan Finnigan (MacKenzie) has worked full time as a freelance writer in a number of genres, creating screenplays, plays, oral/social history, biography, children's literature, fiction and poetry. Of her 26 published works ten have been collections of poetry. Over the past 30 years she has given uncounted lectures and readings, taught in schools, read in schools and lately has been story-telling.
