Hi, and thanks for visiting my website.

This site was originally intended to tell you about my books. I've been writing seriously for almost twenty years; it's what I do every weekday morning. Does that sound great? Well it is, every day I get to play at whatever words or ideas I want. I don't have any boss telling me what to do; I'm pretty lucky.

Afternoons I repair and sell violins--well, violas and cellos too. I've worked with musical instruments all my working life, since about 1975 when I began building banjos. I usually have forty or fifty violin family instruments for sale. I've added a list of instruments for sale.

I also own a small chapbook press, Punchpenny Press; there's a link up above. And I'm a crazy birdwatcher, a birder. Yep, there's a bird on everyone of my book pages. Sooner or later I might add other bird things to this site, maybe bird trip reports, who knows. I could do some pretty good reports. I've birded in Iceland, in India, Syria, Denmark, Netherlands, in Sweden and South Africa--I've visited lots of different places.

About my books. Check out the various pages. And please forgive the inconsistencies in the tone and voice of the text; some of the blurbs were written by other people, others I wrote myself. I will eventually get everything 'write'.
